Rushes Lake is 10 acres in size with depths ranging from 3ft in the shallows up to 9ft at the dam wall and is fed by a small stream.

There are 7 cut swims available at Rushes, 3 of which are doubles ideal for the anglers who wish to add a social feel to their trip, 2 singles and 2 swims up in the shallows which are ideal for stalking from, all have long flat grassy banks and make bivvying up very easy and comfortable. So as not to spoil everyone's enjoyment and give everyone plenty of space and options, only 4 anglers maximum if booked on an individual basis or if booked exclusively by friends, then 6/7 anglers will be allowed.

All the swims offer the angler plenty of water to fish in, with both margin and open water; the lake has plenty of features both visible and non-visible, all the margins are over grown with reeds and rushes and offer excellent hotspots for catching the specimen carp.

The lake bed is relatively snag free and is made up with hard patches of gravel and clay with patches of silt, you will also find bars and holes and a trough which runs the length of lake from the shallows to the dam wall.

The present owners purchased the lake early in 2003, and immediately began a massive stocking program of top quality fish to turn Rushes into a premier runs water, over 250 Carp with weights ranging from 20lb up to 50lb and Catfish up to 30lbs were stocked into the lake.

All the fish we have caught at Rushes have fought long and hard all the way to the net, their condition and stamina is amazing.

The owners make no claims of having a lake stocked full of 40s and 50s, what they can proudly boast is lake full of hard fighting top quality fish to late twenties a good head of thirties and a chance of catching a 40, but whatever fish picks your bait up they will easily pull your arms off all day long.

There are no nuisance fish or Crayfish present in this lake.

Rushes Lake is home to Kim & Iain, they have undertaken a lot of work to ensure that their venue will remain a firm favourite with their guests for many years to come, they have provide for your use, very comfortable and practical facilities that will make your stay more comfortable.

Next to the lake and for your sole use, you have a toilet and shower room with basin, which provides you with ample amounts of hot running water 24/7.

An anglers restroom with English TV, fridges, Freezers, plenty of power points, comfy settee’s, The angler’s room is also ideal for dry storage and doubles as an eating room should the weather turn against you.

Also available at an additional charge, there is a newly furbished twin bedroom room with its own private entrance only a few steps away from the lake, the room is finished to a very high standard and is fitted out with it's own en-suite toilet and washing facilities.

Bait and end tackle is also available as is a shopping service.

An exceptional food package is available at this venue, good wholesome cooked food, just like your mum used to make. Snacks, sandwiches and drinks are also available for an additional cost.
All meals are served on the dam wall over looking the lake, what a better way to end your day than sitting back with friends enjoying the food while the fish are constantly crashing out all around you. Should the weather be against you, then meals will be served in the newly refurbished anglers rest room.
