L’Etang Rompu is a stunning lake, being fully tree lined and surrounded by over 75acres of forest which you are free to explore.

The lake is fed by springs and a small stream, with depths ranging from 2ft in the shallows to 11ft along the dam wall.

There are three purpose built swims around the lake, each offering the angler plenty of visiable features, two large area’s of  lily pads which divide the lake up,  reeds & rushes lining the margins along with over hanging tree’s & bushes, all providing excellent areas to fish to.

The lakebed is virtually snag free and is made up mostly with hard patches and pockets of silt.

The lake was stocked at the beginning of 2005; all the carp stocked were selected for their looks and growth potential, the stocking consisted of over 80 carp up to 50lb.

(70% of the fish being Mirror carp and the rest being Commons, of which 90% of the Common carp weighed in at over the 30lb mark) Along with 2 Specimen catfish up to 60lb. A further stocking is due to take place in late 2007, an additional 20 Carp will be added into the lake with weights up to 30lb.

The fish are fed on a high nutritional pellet, which aids their growth, stamina and condition. We are confident that the stocking levels are correct for the acreage of the lake and will not hinder or restrict further growth rates of the carp and catfish stocked.

The owners of L ‘Etang Rompu have gone to great lengths to ensure that your every need is accommodated for. All the accommodation is cleaned thoroughly before your arrival, all bed linen is supplied but you will need to bring your own towels.

On site for your use is a Gite that will sleep six people, and a log cabin that sleeps two people.

For the use of our guests, we also have four mountain bikes, the forest surrounding the lake is full of trails and the local village is less than 8km away.In addition to all of this, there is a fresh delivery service available daily, bread/milk/beer & wine and anything else you require can be ordered and delivered with out delay.
