The North Lake

An impressive 5 acres in size. Set in rural countryside, surrounded and lined with tree’s and plenty of young bushes making the lake very well sheltered giving you total seclusion with no traffic noise or pollution.

All the swims on the North Lake give the angler a multitude of options; starting from the margins, which are lined with Bull Rushes and Flag Iris, they gently slope down from 2 to 8ft.  The lakebed has varying depths and is made up of a mix of hard & soft clay, the features include Gravel bars, a sunken tree stump, two medium sized sunken branches, some lime stone boulders and a gully running the whole length of the lake from inlet to outlet. There is also a large basin that goes down to over 10ft. The lake has 8 swims available with 3 of them being doubles, so there is plenty of room to move around the lake, all the swims are very generous in size and can accommodate the largest of bivvies with ease.

Jolly Pad Lake

3 acres in size, though the smallest on the fishery it is no less impressive than the others. The owners have undertaken a massive re-planting programme of tree’s and  extra planting of bushes on The Jolly Pad Lake. The fishing is only permitted on three sides, there are 3 purpose built swims and two cleared areas available to fish from on the lake, each offering the angler plenty of options; the margins are lined with Bull Rushes and Flag Iris and gently slope down from 3 to 8ft, the lakebed itself made up with hard & soft clay. Again like the North Lake, there is an inlet and an outlet, the inlet is on the side where no fishing is permitted due to the height of the bank, this bank is full of large Reeds & Rushes. There are also two large areas of lily pads. 

Simon’s Lake

4 acres in size and is currently been used as a stock lake but we hope to see this opened to our guests within the foreseeable future.

Stock Ponds

The 7 stock ponds are currently being used to breed & grow on Eden's own carp. Bearing in mind the carp have been proven to grow quickly, they will soon become an asset to the North & the Jolly Pad Lakes as well as being able to be stocked into Simon's Lake. This will mean that all the lakes will benefit from the same strong strain of carp and reduce any diseases from introducing carp from other suppliers. Being able to breed fish on their own site will also reduce any fatalities brought on by the stress of the transportation process.

Eden’s Lakes was taken over by the present owners in 2004 and has been magnificently transformed into a top class venue. Being a former fish farm, The North Lake, The Jolly Pad Lake & Simon’s Lake all needed to be drained and netted to remove all the small and unwanted fish. In Jan 05 the first of the big fish arrived, over 1 tonne of Mirrors & Common Carp ranging from 13lb up to a massive 51lb were stocked into the North Lake, the stock included some 40lb+ Carp and a good head of 30lb+ Carp. In April 05 a further stocking of the North Lake took place, Carp ranging from mid 20’s up to mid 40’s were introduced along with two Catfish to 45lbs, and two Grass Carp, there are now approximately 130 to 150 Carp in residents at the North Lake.

The Jolly Pad Lake was also stocked in April 05 with over 1 tonne of Mirror Carp ranging from 23lb up to 51lbs; the lake also contains a small number of Grass Carp, which can offer excellent, if not at times frustrating sport if trying to take them off the top. There is approximately 80 to 90 Carp in the Jolly Pad Lake.

Simon’s Lake will become a runs water with Carp to 30lb with the odd 40lber put in as a bonus.

All the fish have been hand picked for their looks, strength and growth potential. The anglers who have visited Eden’s Lakes have commented on the Carp’s relentless strength during the fight, from the moment they hook one to the second it slips over the net. The fish have been fed on a diet of boilies (specially designed for the lake) pellets and maize, this has proven to be very beneficial to the stock which has really piled the pounds on since their original stocking.

The facilities and services available at Eden’s Lakes are of a very high standard.
On the North Lake there is a large wooden chalet, equipped with, a large hydro massage shower available 24hrs a day, English toilet, plenty of power points, a fully equipped kitchen with 2 fridges, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, 2 ring electric hob, ample cooking and eating utensils. Outside the chalet there is a large seating area, with table & chairs and beside this there is a gas BBQ. The chalet is a great place to sit back with your friends to share a beer and swap stories.

On the banks of the Jolly Pad Lake you have the exclusive use of a 4-berth caravan with awning, inside is a fully fitted kitchen with double gas rings, grill, kettle, toaster and a small fridge along with plenty of cooking & eating utensils.
Outside there are tables and chairs for your comfort.

This isn’t your average Drive & Survive venue, the owners also provide you with Tea & coffee, sugar, milk, salt & pepper, cooking oil, cling film, tin foil, bin liners, toilet rolls and magazines to read!! Should you not be able to tear yourself away from the lake but require any shopping, Adam & Lisa will be only too happy to go out and do this for you.

There is also a small tackle shop onsite which stocks a good supply of bait specifically designed for the lakes, pellets and particles as well as terminal tackle and various items of equipment from the Thinking AnglerÓ range. You can also hire a full set-up should you decide to fly over.

The venue can also offer you an airport pick-up service for those that prefer not to drive.
