The lake at Etang de Kingshaw is 7.5acres in size and was originally excavated for the gravel just over 30yrs ago, but since then it has blossomed into a fully matured tree lined venue.

The lake bed has varying depths, from 2ft down to 26ft, and is packed with features and life, mussel beds, weed beds, pockets of silt and large patches of gravel can all be found, spending time with a marker rod will pay off, but don’t ignore the margins with it’s over hanging trees and bushes they offer the lakes residents plenty of cover during the warmer months.

There are 7 swims on Kinghaws, 5 singles and 2 doubles, each offering the angler plenty of water and features, all the swims are purpose built and offer plenty of space and comfort.

The lake was purchased by its present owners in 2006, and straight away the owners began transforming this secret unknown lake into the stunning gem it is now.

The lake had seen little angling pressure over the past 30years so a major restocking of top quality specimen fish shortly followed, In the December of 2006 and going into January 07 over 150 Carp were added into the lake with a good mixture of Commons up to 32lbs and Mirrors up to 44lbs, to add a further challenge to the anglers, Catfish up to 88lbs were also added into the lake.

The lake also contains Roach, Rudd, Perch, Pike & Zander, some of these are specimen sized.

We have also been informed by the previous owners that the lake was originally stocked some 30yrs ago, so with this added bit of mystery, hopefully there will be few surprises gracing the bank.

The owners will supply all anglers with unhooking mats, landing nets and slings.

Etang de kingshaw is home to Kevin & Sue; they have spent considerable amounts of time, energy and money in ensuring that the facilities available are of an exceptional standard.

On site there is a large wooden chalet which has been fitted out with a large power shower, excellent for relaxing those tired worn out limbs after a days hauling, 2 English toilets, fully fitted kitchen with cooker, large fridge for storing those essential supplies, plenty of cooking and eating utensils, Tea & coffee making facilities and a seating area.

Outside the lodge there is a large seating area with BBQ which over looks the lake, perfect for those social gatherings at the end of the day. There is also a small shop onsite where you will be able to purchase Boilies, pop-ups, maize/particles so there is no need to cram everything into your car, and a range of end tackle, along with drinks and snacks.
 

Each angler is provided with a BBQ and a water container which will be filled daily with fresh drinking water. For your convenience there are a number of carp porters at your disposal to make life easier ferrying your gear to and from your chosen swim.

To add further comforts, the owners have placed a number of portable toilets around the lake. Should you not wish to leave the lake, a daily shopping service is also available, but for those of you looking to get away from the lake, the lake is ideally situated less than 5mins away from the nearest town which has a small selection of shops and bars.

There is also an optional food package available at this venue.

Etang de kingshaw is a new venue for Hooked on France, and we are very pleased to have found such and outstanding venue, the owners have gone to incredible lengths to ensure that your stay with them is very rewarding, both in the fishing and the comforts available around the lake, they are very accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. The lake has been stocked with some strikingly big hard fighting fish, and as this is a new venue, most have never seen a hook. Being just over 3hrs from the nearest port, we are very confident that this venue will be an extremely popular one with our customers.
